after searching and searching for a way to get my laptop using puppy i finally found a linux driver for the wifi card but i have no idea how to compile it ..... so can some one make a pet of it.. .how tell me how to install it ... here is a link to a tar.gz file http://partner.atheros.com/Download.aspx?id=162

You didnt spesify your puppy version and kernel version used.

Anyway, the link you provided has source package for ethernet drivers atl1c and atl1e.

Linux* Base Driver for the Atheros(R) AR8121/AR8113 PCI-E Ethernet Adapter

I believe it does not help you with your wireless problem.

There are several threads by Tempestuous for different extra drivers in Drivers section. I suggest you to post your problem to the appropriate kernel spesific thread.
