OpenOffice.org package includes security patch?

#1 Post by J_Rey »

I saw on the news page for today (http://www.goosee.com/puppy/news.htm) that there has been created a PupGet/Unleashed package of OpenOffice.org (OOo). But I didn't see it at ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributio ... packages-1, yet. I will assume by the size that it is v. 1.1.4 but what everyone will or should be asking is, has the security patch been added or not (see http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.4/se ... patch.html)?

Thanks for reminding me about that, I've added the security patch right now.

OpenOffice is not yet on ibiblio.org as I'm still testing it.
At the latest, it'll be up at the same time Pup 1.0.4 is released ...which is... dunno, I'll let you know soon!

1. Will OpenOffice use the same printing method as Abiword?
2. Any idea how much ram will be required to run Puppy and OpenOffice in ram only.

I haven't tested printing from OpenOffice yet, but I think it should print okay.

Running in ram only... that's an interesting question.

I'm just about to create a live-CD of "humungous Puppy" and try it on various PCs... I think may have to specify a PC with 256M RAM as the minimum (if it doesn't have a Linux swap partition) to load and run totally in RAM ...but, we'll see.
