Distrowatch

#1 Post by marksouth2000 »

Fellow Puppyists/Puppians:

The simplest way in the world to promote a distro is at Distrowatch.

Puppy 109CE was released Monday 15th May.

As I type this, there are NINE new release announcements listed on Distrowatch since Moday's edition of Distrowatch Weekly.

Where is Puppy????? :?

Is there someone who can inform Ladislav Boznar about the birth of the new pup? Please?

:?
yeah... I was puzzled by the silence around Puppy 109...

However, I am sure Ladislav knows about it, since he reads the DWW comments, and the release has been well commented there...

I am also puzzled that Barry's page mentioned yesterday (may 18) the actual version as 109, and today it's back to 108...

Anyway, no big deal, I am sure both are just small mistakes...

-When can we expect the official release of Puppy2 ?

I mailed Ladislav a couple hours ago to remind him, so he definitely should know about it.

Regarding the version numbers on the web pages, that's probably just a normal time lag updating them.

Cheers,
Mark

I announced it on what I thought was the "New versions page" and was in fact a comment on the newsletter . . .
This was a few days before 15 May. I also mentioned Puppy 2 beta was on its way. Then Nathan informed them when 1.09 was released.

I blame Red Hat!

Actually it is probably an oversight . . .
Ladislav Boznar, I am sure will feature Puppy 1.09 soon enough. Nathan is working on a patch for 1.09 (few final bugs being seen to)

Meanwhile here is what I hope Puppy 2.00 beta will look like . . .

Update: I just had a reply from Ladislav, he said he was snowed under with all the other releases and apologised for not noticing until now.

My home page, www.puppyos.com, definitely has 1.09CE as the latest.

Thanks Flash :)
Did I say "Desktop", I meant Seamonkey browser opening page :) It is a development of the page in Puppy 1.09 specific to Puppy2
Here is the developer link
http://www.puppyos.com/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=198

There are some changes required. The grey should be white (if there at all) and one box

The list of contributers needs to be removed or accurate. I just tried rarsas "subversion" code updating prog for the second time without success - waiting for someone else to confirm how it is done.

...and upon waking this morning I see that Distrowatch has the announcement.

Better late than never, eh? 8)
