do you know the vietnamese Puppy?
http://hacao.com
http://hacao.dotpups.de
Vietnamese characters need some special work, hacao has added all needed things to his puppy.

There is a collection of various tips:
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/LanguageSupport
To help with the menu-translator, I need more details.
What have you tried? What happened exactly?
Please post your translated translationfile
/usr/local/Puppymenu-translator/resource/XXX.lng
XXX you must replace with the name of your locale-setting.
You can get it with this command in a consolewindow:
echo $LANG
For example if you get
echo $LANG
vi_VN
then your translationfile must be named
/usr/local/Puppymenu-translator/resource/vi_VN.lng

Which editor do you use? Leafpad or beaver?
In leafpad it looks like this:
Control Panel°°°Pa nen điều khiển
In Beaver:
Control Panel°°°Pa nen Äiá»u khiá»n
The problem is the
°°°
It must be
°°°
I uploaded a new version, that now uses "***" instead of "°°°".
Now vietnamese works
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/System_Utilities/international-Puppymenu/
I included vi.lng with the "***".
Is it ok like this?
Many thanks for your report, and if you have more suggestions, they are really welcome
