Have you tried installing the Ubuntu .deb?

I could be corrected, but I'm not sure its more than a front end for mplayer? If that is the case, there is plenty to chose from on the forums here.

i can confirm that the deb works but you will need these three deps from the ppm.
Make sure the ubuntu repos are enabled.

libqtcore4
libqt4-xml
libqt4-network

To correct, or update myself, it IS a front end for mplayer, but its awesome. The youtube integration is great.

666philb tahrpup is your baby, umplayer needs mplayer to run in that wonderful Puppy. Works are going on. Will advise soon.
