[SOLVED] Portuguese translation and reboot problems

#1 Post by tico »

Hi, there!

I can't reboot ou power off my Puppy 5.10 (frugal) from the menu in X server. The interesting thing is that it only happens after I install my Portuguese translation (a PET file, can be found in our wiki). In a clean execution (pfix=ram) or without the translation, everything runs nice. And I don't remember tampering with any reboot/power script....

After searching the forum, I tested all solutions, but none worked:
- boot options:acpi=force / acpi=no
- /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: [ ! -d /proc/acpi ] && modprobe apm power_off=1 #v406
To reboot/power off, I need to close de X server (CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE) and run reboot in the command line.

Could someone please help me debug this error? Could it be due the translation files?

Thanks!
Tico

Try to revert '/usr/bin/xwin' to the original, you can find it at /initrd/pup_ro2/usr/bin/xwin.

xwin script

Hey, shinobar, fast and well-aimed as always! There is a problem in the xwin script, I changed something in the process of translation. I will compare both files.

Thanks!
