Locale files don't get downloaded

#1 Post by Béèm »

I try to get the locale files (I am in puppy2a24may06) via the start menu.
Wget starts and the connection to ibiblio is made.
However wget sits on the RETR command and the download don't start. (I get an indication of try 7 now)
Previous attempts weren't successful either.
If I go via the browser to ibiblio I can get to the package and download, but I am a bit at a loss. When I click on the downloaded file, I don't think the files are extracted in the correct directories, therefor I try with via the start menu.

Is there a problem doing this this way?
Puppy Linux 2.02 SMkey, KDE354mini, wine0.9.20, devx-qt-renamed.
Puppy Linux 2.10r1 SMkey, JWM, devx_qt_renamed_210, KDE355mini

For what's worth, I downloaded and installed the it_IT@euro locale from the menu "Choose locale" option and it worked fine for me (first time I get the Euro sign in a distro without major hacking). Maybe it is some glitch with the specific locale file you are after ?

ensure you are posting to a resource that has been mounted and that
that wget has finished downloading (this will appear in the log area)

It looks as if nothing is happening with wget . . .
and then you get a "dowload finished" message
