You should also tell us of the exact USB device ID of your modem, by running this command

According to Google, your device ID should be 12d1:1446
This is the device ID in its usb-storage mode, and since Puppy 5.1/5.2 does not recognise this device ID, I suspect that Puppy's usb-storage module will need to be patched to support this ID ... but rerwin will know this.
