I miss the old remaster script

#1 Post by zygo »

Using puppy 2. Is there any way to remove mozilla? With the old remaster script (in 106) I could get into the 2 big files and remove (or add) to their filesystems. Any chance of it being converted for p2?

I was hoping to work on it this weekend. I'll download barebones (now that it's on nluug) when I get back to a broadband connection Monday.

Do you mean Hackey Remaster or the AlienX script?

I can update the AlienX script once I get Puppy2... (in another week)

I meant the OLD_remaster_CD option from Create custom Puppy live-CD menu option in 106.

I never got around to writing package removal from the puppy2 cd remaster
script, but note something very important:

With puppy1 it was a bit messy, because we didn't know what files were in a
package that was already part of the live-cd. So we had to download the pupget
package just to find out what its files are!

No more. I have put the infrastructure in place for a future remaster script to
easily remove packages.
If you look in the pupget packages directory on ibiblio.org, you will find a
file 0pkgs_db-2.0.0.tar.gz -- open this and see what it has!
-- anyone who wants to tackle writing a remaster-cd script that removes pkgs
that is.

It's not easy to find out: is mozilla-1.8b1.5 the same as mozilla seamonkey? There is only a mozilla-1.8b1.5.file in 0pkgs_db-2.0.0.tar.gz at nluug. I know you said ibiblio but I can't reach that right now and nluug should have caught up with ibiblio by now. The files are dated 1 Jun 06!

No, the mozilla and seamonkey packages are different, and
info on both packages is in the database.
