Just thought I'd mention that I've been using Wary 5.1.1.57 for the last 6 days and its been flawless for me. I'm primarily using it with the xorg75 .pet because it runs better on my main machine (intel video) and also runs the most recent GoogleEarth. I've even gotten to like the balls_blue65.jpg background.
It occurred to me that I hadn't thanked you for all your hard work recently, so that's what I'm doing now.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Cheers, J
Edit: Running Wary512 now, equally flawless (with balls_blue65 background).

1. I prefer a 12-hour clock. I believe Lupu 525 has a utility for changing the clock from 24 to 12 hours.
2. When the Rename dialog is running it is not represented on the task bar. This makes it almost impossible to have the Rename dialog on top of windows, after its initial appearance. After user clicks space, and the dialog recedes, the only way to re-acquire the Rename dialog is to use Show Desktop, but toggling Show Desktop will not place Rename dialog on top of a window. I rename files constantly, and frequently the spelling is so difficult (eg Polish) I have to go back and forth to get the spelling right. When I can place the Rename dialog on top of a window, I can type a name and title as I look at them. It's easy to put the Rename dialog on top of a window when it is represented on the task bar. Under the current circumstances I haven't found a way to do this, and I would rather do it the way I'm accustomed to.
3. I "deinstalled" Adblock because, as configured, I was seeing ads that I don't usually see. I had the intention of getting Adblock Plus, but now there is no link to Add-ons under Tools in the browser. I tried to install Adblock Plus, got an error that install script not found. I started up Pup Advert Blocker, accepted suggested sub, but I still see adverts I expect to be gone with Adblock Plus. Why do we have a Pup version when Adblock Plus does such a good job?

I am heavy computer challenged but love computers nevertheless so the following could be my misunderstanding.
Barry write on his blog re Wary 5.1.2
Note, Wary 5.1.2 has an old SeaMonkey 1.1.18, with an excellent collection of addons especially selected for those with slow and/or limited Internet connection
Does any of these addons work in the back ground updating Seamonkey if one have used SM once after boot up?
And does it prepare for downloading the update of Seamonkey even if one just boot up and never click on browser ever? both the 56 and the 57 behaved that way and no other puppy have behaved that way so it was very surprising. Some kind of Real Time Upgrading in the back ground going on. Firefox has never behaved that way AFAIK.
Maybe they have it on 5.0 but I have not tested that one yet.
So now when 512 is out I feel worried that it behave as automatically. is it something one can shut down or at least know what it is up to doing.
version 56 dowloaded a file bigger than 3MB I shut it down in case it would be some attack making use of SM or something. So I know too little to find out what was going on but I have installed many puppies after that and none has behaved like that. When I tested 57 that one behaved like that too but only took down something 3KB big. I had not activated SM on that boot. Is it always possible to see such a prog in the start up folder or can they be hidden by the addon? Does the Pprocess manager always have them?
Is there any log that one can look at to find out what it was it down loaded?
How independent can an addon to SeaMonkey be? Can it do things long after one has shut down SM and no other program is working while one drink coffee?

Wary 5.1.2 basic operation is fine for me (Inspiron 1100 w/82845 graphics) but for scrolling in Seamonkey. Seamonkey 1.1.18 shreds the lines coming up from the bottom unless scrolling is done very slowly. I have the problem with both the i810 driver and vesa (Intel won't work for me) in Wary 5.1.2.
I think there has been some discussion about this subject, not lately. Will hunt for it.
The problem does not occur with Squeezed Puppy 4.99.2 (Seamonkey 1.1.18 w/vesa) nor with Wary 5.1.0 (Seamonkey 2.0.11 w/i810)., nor Wary 5.1.1.57 default Seamonkey (don't recall the version w/i810).
edit: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 29&start=3 refers to the same problem and yes, the problem goes away when the window is maximized or full screen via f11. Still not a problem in 5.1.0 - haven't rechecked the others yet. That's it for tonight.

Pretty good but won't login to ANZ bank....
hangs after typing in name and password.
I have enabled and disabled everything as per norm.
flashblock ??? disabled.
All other bank sites work.
Youtube works.
More sound defaults....great... that I can tweak
so I can turn up the volume.
Best Puppy Sound ever...must try it on my Acer Netbook.
It's the same browser as Puppy 4.3.1...
modified yes....but something screwy there...
I think a part of flashblock still is >> enabled.
And I like the old Seamonkey.

Tried again this morning....hangs.

And really sorry that you got burgled BK.

eeepc touchpad, can't config (any touchpad?)
Well, this is something I've been meaning to post for a while now.
The last version of any Puppy to operate with my eeepc was Quirky 1.3.
Puppy, Wary, and Quirky will all boot, but the "double-tap and drag
window" feature doesn't work and can't be configured (this is the very
handy ability to double-tap a window title bar and move the window
without having to press down a touchpad key with your other hand).
The touchpad config choice in the main Puppy Setup utility doesn't work.
Clicking Configure Touchpad gives the error:
"Can't access shared memory area. SHMConfig disabled?"
The flSynclient is open in the background, but closing the error dialog
closes everything, and it's back to square one. This can be seen on
desktop PC's with a mouse too. I've observed this symptom on most of
the releases, it's the reason I still have Quirky 1.3.

You should also test Snowpup and maybe Ice pup but that one is highly experimental.
Snow reuse knowledge from both lupu 511 and 525 and Fluppy so Snow is my best bet but start with Fluppy 13 and see how that one works.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Thanks for your suggestion, but I'd prefer that the core releases improve.I would test Fluppy that one worked when others failed.
I suspect that derivative puplets will just import the configuration problem,
and still be unable to configure a touchpad.
The issue is visible on desktop PC's, I'm really surprised no one has
noticed that the utility doesn't work.
Anyone with any technical know how on the touchpad issue?

Xvesa disable trackpad tapping
Is there a way to disable trackpad tapping without using the Xorg drivers?
I can disable trackpad tapping if I use Xorg but...
This old laptop works better with Xvesa, trying to disable trackpad tapping returns this message:
"Can't access shared memory area. SHMConfig disabled?"
