I asked from Unikey forum
Xương-rồng wrote(I translated from Vietnamese):
If build from source :
Add option --with-unikey-gtk when run configure
In ~/.bash_profile (or same suitable), add the var
export GTK_IM_MODULE=unikey
Then run unikey , now you can type Vietnamese in abiword 2.4 !
I hope you like it !
Will you try it, MU ?
Thanks

my config.log tells me, I compiled like this:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by Unikey X Input Method configure 1.0.4, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was

$ ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-unikey-gtk
Without it, it would not work in abiword20 I think.
The Problem with Abiword seems to be this:

no, it seems mozilla does not support it :sad

But you can type in Abiword.
Then copy&paste.
Select the text with the mouse in Abiword, and Middle-click in Mozilla to paste it.
