Puupy Review & puppy websites

#1 Post by saintlangton »

Here's a pretty positive (If short) review of Puppy:
http://aplawrence.com/Opinion/puppy_linux.html

It was linked from tuxmachines so a lot of people may read it.

A quote from the review "A HOWTO makes reference to an add-on file called "usr_devx.sfs" that gives you a C/C++ environment. I could not find that anywhere.. references to it, but nowhere to download it."

Naturally I posted a link in the comments section. But even for me as a longtime user and avid watcher of Puppy's progress It took almost half an hour to find the link! Yes I am a touch sleep-deprived but still... and to be fair to me the reviewer couldn't find the file either.

This does appear to be an issue but I'm sure we as a community can solve it...

Naturally, it is in the downloads page of puppylinux.org - I could see that you've managed to post the download link in the comments.

The "regulars" can register in puppylinux.org and help put content in it. Some enthusiasts are already admin there.
