Shoot me!
I am going off topic!
Bruce B,
That area of California you hail from wouldn't be called "The State of Jefferson" now would it?
Also, since becoming a moderator, when do you get a chance to sleep?
And last, if a topic is started with the intention of starting a flaming discussion and it is not replied to by anyone, will it survive?
The hard thing on those types of topics is one wants to reply to defend Puppy.

I sleep a lot, my computer is the guy who doesn't sleep. And naturally, like anyone else I sleep with my computer.8-bit wrote:Also, since becoming a moderator, when do you get a chance to sleep?
I was thinking the same thing. I was raised with the training that we should walk away from fights. It never even occurred to me to start a fight, then walk away.8-bit wrote:And last, if a topic is started with the intention of starting a flaming discussion and it is not replied to by anyone, will it survive?

Imagine! Punch a guy in the nose and before he hits you back, tell him you don't fight and just walk away.

Hello,
You know, i see a lot lately about the forum being negative, etc...
Seriously, has anyone been on some of the other forums out there..???
At our worst, we might hit PG-13, maybe NC-17....
I`ve seen profanities on some forums so bad I had to look them up...
The general feeling at some forums is...
"If you need to ask, you are too stupid to deserve an answer, and it would only confuse you"..
OR
"You must be a : (insert insult derived from question or avatar/username)"
Heck, we just enjoy a little harmless "poking" around here, for the most part..
People will argue any point...
Puppyluvr emphatically states:

A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colours—there are no "bands." The apparent discreteness is an artefact of the photopigments in the human eye and of the neural processing of our photoreceptor outputs in the brain. Because the peak response of human colour receptors varies from person to person, different individuals will see slightly different colours, and persons with colour blindness will see a smaller set of colours.
ohm's where the art is
Just for the record when I posted no one could predict who would answer
Person A could be anyone no name was given or even implied
person B is my first response sometimes before thinking it through well
person C is my better judgment and is always right but sometimes I don't listen to it
so, I posted it to remind myself and others how to avoid an argument
even trying to avoid an argument you can get into one

That would make person A a politician claiming a mandate for his/her policies whether they were outlined prior to an election or not!8-bit wrote:And how about if person A assumes that all that did not reply to his post are in favor of his idea?

Well I appreciate that this might be a rhetorical questionCan someone please explain to me...
Why people who no doubt consider themselves sensible and intelligent...
Would feed the disputes generated by certain individuals...
By taking the time/trouble/effort to post replies?
and when the sensibly intelligent arrive you might get a better answer
but I believe it is because every troll you meet
is programmed to illicit a programmed response.
Both parties are getting their jollies whist pretending something else is happening . . .
Perhaps if I tell you a story . . .
Quite a while ago some very bad feeling was generated
and some bad publicity was generated which I felt would be detrimental to Puppy. If the Puppy group were really that bad, best avoid them . . .
. . . or so you would think . . .
in fact many people arrived to look for the reported conflict and fighting
Where was it?
They 'fight lurkers' tried the operating system so they could provoke the Puppys into defending their 'second rate' operating system . . .
Only they found the operating system was good too.
What is a troll to do?
