InkLite Inkscape Lite any more information?

#1 Post by darkcity »

I'm adding a InkLite or Inkscape Lite page on the wiki.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find much info, or even if the correct name is InkLIte or 'Inkscape Lite'.

Does anyone know who made this and if it's maintained?

on a different note, there is talk on the inkscape forum of a kids version of inkscape which could double up as a lightweight version-

Inkscape for what usage

#6 Post by Pelo »

In fact i take a shot of my screen with MTpaint to save the result in .jpg extension. I spent much time searching in forums. It seems that inkscape is unable to save in PNG or JPEG format.
Inkscape for what usage : to stick several images together, but but adjusting borders for a continuous aspect. (panorama). Not so easy.
Or to stick to images one uper the other, as you stick a label.
A pendrive image, a puppy logo that you stick on the pendrive ...
and a lot more...
I am a photographer, you are IT specialists. A long time ago, we needed help from chemists...

For stitching panoramas, there exist specialized programs. Panotools and the like. Inkscape is for different things

mtPaint's copy & paste, or layers compositing.

Some things require selecting the right tool for the job. Other things, knowing the right way to apply a tool. Still other, the right tool used the right way. Such is the grand scheme of things.
Computers are not yet advanced enough to do our thinking for us. ;-)

To answer question inskape and inkscapelite are two versions . Lite is provided in all puppies. If you want the normal sized, it's made available by ToOppY shops.
Inkscape lite is for scaling icons as Puppy if for repair your broken XP.. Of course, inskscape does a lot more..
