Scribus Templates Anywhere?(Solved)
Scribus Templates Anywhere?(Solved)
Has anyone dotpup'd some Scibus templates?
I looked around using Search and didn't spot anything.
I need to create several brochures for church ministries and would like ot save a little time working from an existing template.
Will look on the Net in the meanwhile and if nothing exists yet will try to create a dotpup!

Best I can tell Pagemaker, Quark, Indesign, and others have taken or threatened legal action to prevent Scribus developers from offering import filters.gliezl wrote:Hi there, could someone tell me if it is possible to use pagemaker files under scribus?
They even do their best to keep one another from doing so. Shameful but true.
That said, you may Save As or Output or Export from Pagemaker to other formats that may be imported to Scribus.
EPS, SVG and PDF are all possibilities.
HTH -- look forward to reports of your successes!

Why do they need to do that? Scribus developers are just helping the opensource community and for those who can't afford a license, especially those non-profit organizations just doing missionary work something like that.
Profit and fear motivated restraint of trade.gliezl wrote: Why do they need to do that? Scribus developers are just helping the opensource community and for those who can't afford a license, especially those non-profit organizations just doing missionary work something like that.
Because they lack confidence that they can win with superior products they sabotage efforts to allow consumers to create portable documents.
They are merely following the Microsoft model.
