How to add external monitor to laptop?

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

How to add external monitor to laptop?

#1 Post by Brian C »

I want to get Puppy to support an external monitor on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000 w/ Intel i915 graphics chipset) so that I can have an extended desktop that spans both monitors. Does anyone have a reccomended way to do this?

do you already see anything on that monitor, for example the same as on the notebook-monitor?

The second monitor has nothing on it, and in fact does not come on at all presently.

Have you activate the monitor via your keypad?

This might seem obvious, but have you activated the monitor? Many(most?) laptops have keys eg Fn-f(number) that switches the signal to the external monitor on.
