Being a newbie to real computing especially linux, it has been a pleasure to work with puppy.
i have lucid puppy 5.2.5
i have it running on an old amd processor laptop with ram 128+256. the ram was so poor that a new printer once rejected loading on my system. the original win xp crashed my hdd and i have a new hdd.
the system is pretty bad in that if i load more than a couple of programmes it automatically hangs. puppy has given it a new life
i tried to load all versions of linux, suse linux, knoppix, ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu and so on... all of them refused to load on this system, they would not go beyond the initialisation and reject as no ram etc.
only puppy has not bothered to reject my system but has loaded and delivered.
thanks once again

I'd just like to say that installing Puppy has been uniquely straightforward process for me, kudos to all those involved.

Funny, I got initiated the same way. Only my ram was even smaller: 64+128. I'll never forget my first Puppy 2.16 screens...

Welcome :)
