RexBang & 5.31 Spot Fully Loaded Ready To Go For The Masses

#1 Post by Icyos »

Hi All

I have remastered RexBang Linux with all software the normal user would ever need for their digital daily life, I am also running a series of support videos on this awesome system.

Video's and iso Download link : http://youtu.be/9VJ1nFGK8e8

The whole point of this was to save people making their own system and try to encourage the masses to use it, including my kids and my wife, I am using it myself as my main system from a USB drive on various computers and its fast, stable and does what I need on a daily basis.

Hope it's ok to share with you all any comments/improvements would be most welcome, finally many thanks to the creators of RexBang for giving users like me the chance to spread this awesome operating system to the masses.

Not having any fun with the download link here . . . it came up with one of those REALLY ANNOYING things where the d/l gradually slows so there is always ONE HOUR to go - this in Chrome's rather silly download manager, or mismanager. Got to 256MB where no more data seemed to be arriving though the browser claimed the d/l was still going on. Cancelled in the end, 2nd attempt never started.

Something up here? Data cap exceeded? New iso being put in place??? The fun has not yet begun alas.

All kinds of weird goings-on with the D/L.
I tried many different ways to get it, but no deal.
It even told me once that there is no such file.

New site urgently needed.

" Sorry, we are unable to scan this file for viruses.

The file exceeds the maximum size that we scan.

Download anyway "

I just posted this as the link is not immediately apparent.

I downloaded the iso from docs.google as a custom-puppy-lupu_525, its size is 484mb.

I just downloaded it using the new link and no problem at all.
The size I got was 504.2MB.
Hmmm.
Now to try it.

I set up a manual frugal install about an hour ago, on a partition that also has Puppy525 and the Three-headed dog. The boot was fast, as is everything about this version. Congratulations on a job well done.

I suspected that either
A. you got a bad download or
B. I got a little "bonus" inserted by the hosting site.

My d/l from cthisbear's link was good.

Using the link provided by cthisbear the file came in at good speed by local standards and appears to be complete by size at least. Will burn the iso to disk tomorrow. Who can say, maybe the previous problem was due to transient conditions on the interwebs?

Gotta Love it
Yep.
Nice, fast, all god stuff.

One request, or maybe 2.
Can anyone tell me the name of the font used on stu90.jpg background.

I would also love to have the tray theme available in Icewm for another Puppy.
Maybe a project for someone?

Thx.
