note: this is a QT4 static app that can work in every puppy version, regardless to dependencies kontrolpack-3.0.0 - http://dokupuppylinux.co.cc/programs:remote_desktop - direct download (5.4 MB)
if you want tweak the appearance of this and other qt apps (e.g: enable menu fade and/or animations) , you can use simply download and click to use *qtconfig* - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32350825/qt4-static/qtconfig _________________ replace .co.cc with .info to get access to stuff I posted in forum dropbox 2GB free OpenOffice for Puppy Linux |

Um, how do you use it? I assume it has to be installed on both of the computers that will be involved; the one with the files and the one that will be accessing those files over the internet. Off topic: How come it seems to be so easy to directly connect two computers in this way while it's turning out to be virtually impossible to connect them for VOIP purposes?

High Dingo buddy ! Really cool app .....i love it This is something i have been looking for . Posting this you did me a real favour . So simple to use .....woow ...!!!!! Found it by looking for ways to get remote access and filesharing beween linux machines wireless . Needed a bit experimenting but......simple to use and beautifull. Thank you !!!! |

I just forget saying ... One must create a directory in root named .kontrolpack on Serverside (better on both server and client side ) else you will not see remote desktop . The kontrolpack pet must be installed on each computer. There are two modes in menu Advanced user or Beginner. Advanced user mode can execute commands on the server via terminal . I am not quite sure if one have to disable firewalls . |
