Here is a .pet for rtorrent, it works on Lucid 5.2.5 and Dpup so should work in Lucid 5.2.8 also.
http://www.smokey01.com/stu90/lucid.pup ... .8.6-1.pet

~/.rtorrent.rc configuration file is not included in the .pet
There is a detailed archwiki guide here on how to setup the configuration file:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RTorrent

For creating puppy .pets from .deb files i use 01micko's tool 'alien2puppy'

cheers.

I guess it is just down to personal preference more than anything - you can probably do the same with transmission but i like that you can set a 'watch' directory then automatically adds torrents to rtorrent.

Here is a good article on rtorrent.

transmission has a similar mechanism : "auto add torrents from" in the preferences

rtorrent is very light on system resources, which is great when you need to reserve cpu/mem usage for video transcoding, archiving etc. hence the use of puppy........ woof
Oh and cheers stu90 for the links :D
