I just installed the instant update 001 for Puppy 5.28. It fixed my CUPS "500 Internal Server Error" problem but skpye_static-2.2.0.35 now crashes and the Skype window disappears after 5 seconds. It is impossible to log in.

Tried logging in from command line. Skype still crashes. Got following error message:

socket(): Address family not supported by protocol

No such problems earlier.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Skype.

Thanks, Bigpup. Tried reinstalllig Skype but Skype still behaves the same.

I installed the skype static sfs version mentioned above and the Wine and Firefox 5.01 available from the Get Pup links on the 5.28 desktop. Nothing out of the ordinary - except I did install one windows program to run under Wine in Wine's directory (Miktex Basic). That's all I've added.

Then it should be easy to track down. Starting with a fresh Puppy setup, install the packages one at a time and check CUPS.

Remember now that earlier installed and uninstalled two tetex packages -- one sfs and then one pet. Went to Wine & Miktex when neither tetex worked. Can live without Skype but not without Miktex right now so will try to find culprit after current tex job finished.
