newest kernel 3.1.8 & 3.0.16 test on lupu528

#1 Post by wuxiandianzi »

The aim of this is to test new kernel to let it work well with puppy!
I am willing to do some experiments for puppy's development, such as kernel.
The puppy is a lightweight systems. But we all have different requirements. So, I think puppy should be able to run on any device!
There will be more inevitably bugs when testing, but the practice is a prerequisite for development I think.

I delete your download link you CAN NOT offer puppy with Microsoft Office or CAD included in a iso, using wine, that would break so many software laws, its totally illegal to offer propriety MS software unless you get a written agreement from MS when pigs fly. lol

No problem at all, I did think about doing that myself a few times (actually about a hundred times), but then I figured some lawyers with cops would kick down my door. lol

Not only kick down your door most likely confiscate all your comuters and smartphones too :) Just teasing
3: It doesnot support SMP
Does it help to write nosmp on the kernel line? or would it require two cores to work?
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Thanks for sending the link! Man, this is a fast runner! Shame that you had to modify your original. Does this include the Instant Update .pet or should it/does it need to be installed?
Thanks for your work and assistance.

wuxiandianzi:

Just wondering, does your new 3.0.4 528 have the new update to 528 installed in it already?
