i have downloaded the pet for hp printer drivers AND the one for the scanners, but still, my Xsane cant find my officejet. If you need more details, let me know. Thanks in advance. (edit) its not pluged to my pc, its wireless!)

Read the thread here about the Peasyscan scanning program and how to access networked HP scanners.

This is what I use with my HP Officejet 4500W.

Thanks for the quick answer Very Happy ! but i still have this problem : i can now detect the scanner from my pc, but the scanner doesnt detect my pc (doesnt see my pc in the scanning path choices).. everything is wireless except that pc which is pluged on my router.. i would be glad if you can help.. its just that i dont want to use my wifes pc which has a desease called microsoft windows 7 but ill use it if nothing else works thanks in advance !

I don't know what you mean. What error messages are you getting when you run Peasyscan?

What is the name of the scanner driver package that you installed?

Are you talking about the menu in the LCD screen on the front of the printer?

I have never installed this unit in Windows. Does the host computer appear in the LCD menu? A Linux setup does not work this way. You need to run the scanner from the host computer.

Have you done any of the following?

1. Install Peasyscan.

2. Make a configuration file as described in the Peasyscan notes.

3. Run Peasyscan and select your scanner from the list.

it worked ! on windows you have to scan from the scanner and in lupu you have to scan from your pc THANK YOUUU!
