I upgraded my computer to an Acer 7750G and using Puppy 5.2.8 there is no sound. I tried all the basic installs for sound in the Puppy set up but none took.
Is there something else I can do to get sound?
Acer 7750G sound does not work in Puppy 528
Re: New computer now Puppy sound does not work
A very common problem with 5.2.8.mbiernat wrote:I upgraded my computer to an Acer 7750G and using Puppy 5.2.8 there is no sound. I tried all the basic installs for sound in the Puppy set up but none took.

Try 5.2.5.
Inspiron 700m, Pent.M 1.6Ghz, 1Gb ram.
Msi Wind U100, N270 1.6>2.0Ghz, 1.5Gb ram.
Eeepc 8g 701, 900Mhz, 1Gb ram.
Full installs
Thank you for the reply. I think it has more to do with the new computer. The older version of Puppy has no sound also on my new computer.
So I love using Puppy but now with my new computer I have no sound and the plugin keyboard does not work.
I tried Lubuntu and sound and plugin keyboard works, so maybe there is something I can download from a Ubunutu repository that will make the sound and keyboad (plugin) work?

Reliable sound in 5.2.8 seems to be a problem. When ever I do a new install (using a Sound Baster Live audio card) sound will work for a couple of reboots and then fails completely never to be revived no matter how often I run Alsa Wizard. No icon in the tray. Nothing. Soon as I boot pfix=ram I have sound. As soon as I reinstall Puppy again I have sound, but within a few reboots it is gone again. Seems many have this problem and from all the reading I've done there isn't any solution.
