Can't find pup001
Can't find pup001
I wanted to load usr_cram.fs into folder with pup001 but can't find file. Did a search and it says no such file. I'm running Puppy Linux 2.00 from a CD and would like it to boot faster. Where do I put the usr_cram.fs file?
Puppy2 has some changes.
No pup001, but pup_save.3fs (here all your personal settings/files are saved).
No usr_cram.fs, but pup_201.sfs (= pup_PuppyVERSION.sfs). This has most of Puppys Systemfiles, like the Desktop, Mozilla, Abiword.
No usr_more.sfs, but KDE_201.sfs (= FreeName_PuppyVERSION.sfs).
Same with the developer-addon:
No usr_devx.sfs, but devx_201.sfs (= FreeName_PuppyVERSION.sfs).
So the developer-addon is just an addon as any other.
Copy pup_201.sfs to the same folder as pup_save.3fs to speed the bootprocess up

Tips:
Speed up booting from live-cd
Copy pup_200.sfs from the cd to /initrd/mnt/dev_save/

Lobster,
I currently do a poorman's install of puppy 2.01 with pup_201.sfs and pup_save.3fs in the root directory of an ext2 partition. Works fine and boots in ~1min.
Would your suggestion " Copy pup_200.sfs from the cd to /initrd/mnt/dev_save/ " improve this? Would this mean I would have only the pup_save.3fs in my partition (with pup_201.sfs contained within)?
Thx.

Thanks all for the help. I thought is was nice that the Puppy website offered so many videos on how to do things. Now I see that they aren't up to date and things have changed big time from version 1 to version 2. Thanks once again for your help.
