How do change or eliminate/strip barebones

I want to create a kid friendly puppy so I need to take out Gparted and Fparted/disk and a few others that a kid could screw up to box with. Goal is a Puppy for Kids Live CD with games, education and a dansquardan/squib browser.

Any clues on removing stuff from barebones???
