trying find out what distro is compatible with racy?
looking in "DISTRO_COMPAT_VERSION is defined in this file:
/etc/DISTRO_SPECS" show "puppy" then farther down mentions wary.
slacko is in the ppm so can use other slack repos? thanks
---------
see now slacko was just used as an example in the add repo help.
still not sure what repos can use to add pets?

Thanks,

Frugal installation on an ext4 partition with a 4fs save file. It is fast and stable and the Nvidia driver installed and runs properly. However, upon reboot the nvidia driver did not work. To correct the driver problem, I removed the nouveau driver and reinstalled the proprietary driver which appears to be working properly now.
I spoke too soon, after a reboot, I could not restart regardless of driver selection. The NVIDIA-Linux-x86-285.05.09.run file installed the driver properly and was running great until I rebooted. I'll keep trying but not this evening.
Cheers,
Jim

after looking at all of the racy thread including the 6 links
on the first page one of which points to the wary thread.
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=72258
wary's first page has 10 links and somewhere in the middle is a link
leading to another site that does mention wary is built from T2 sources.
I'm a user not a programmer, builder, or computer science student
nor aspire to be. don't know what t2 sources are.
racy testing was to target wary repo doesn't indicate what wary
is compatible with.
just want to know what pets are compatible with racy.
what would help on racy first page state what is the distro_compat_version.
and in /etc/DISTRO_SPECS instead of listing "puppy" perhaps ubuntu, slacko,
debian, or whatever would be helpful.

slacko does show up in PPM. kind of confusing what
pets are compatible.
pfix=ram of 5.2.2. updated PPM then it shows slacko repo.

Wary and Racy are based on T2 ....... just as Puppy 4.00 and Quirky were.
http://t2-project.org/
That would seem to lead to the "Puppy Common", "Quirky" and "Puppy 4" repos being the ones most compatible.

| Quote: | | 522 Testing . needs to do xorgwizard xwin to boot. Network wizard doesnt work with backslash \ in the Wifi name. No scroll bars on the first info screen. |
the backslash is actually \x0D which is
wicd from pussy (debian) can connect but no puppy i have tried can. the signal is flakey not strong so that may also be the part problem.
