Puppy doesn't support .htaccess & .htpasswd?

#1 Post by wingnut »

I'm using Puppy to be a minimalist web server and want to restrict access to a few directories. I tried using .htaccess and .htpasswd but they seem not to be recognized. Is there something I need to do or are they not supported by nullhttpd?

Since I need so little from my webserver I was trying to avoid installing a whole package where things get bigger and more complex.

Thanks!

Yes, those may be specific only to the Apache server, which you may be trying to avoid in your installation.

I was going to recommend that you RTFM, but there is no FM. Neither on nullhttpd's web site nor in the source code.

Yep, I also went looking for documentation but found none which is why I resorted to asking a question.
