How do I run a VNC server in Puppy?

#1 Post by dvw86 »

Does anybody know how to get a VNC or RDC server running on Puppy? I have played with TightVNC and RealVNC but have not had much luck. It looks like Perl may be a requirement. If some one has any ideas it would help us get a Puppy server running for people to use as a development platform. Thanks

I have the tight VNC server almost ready for beta. I translated the vncserver script to a bash script

I will post it tonight for you to test. (Here the time is EST this is GMT -5)

Actually the vncserver script does nothing but validate and prepare the parameters for the Xvnc binary.

Oh, and you also need the cursors font.

I will prepare the DotPup with all the requirements.

I'm going camping tomorrow morning so I won't be able to respond to any messages until sunday night but actually the DotPup should work nice
