Install VectorLinux 5.0 from iso without burning a CD

#1 Post by syzygy »

Just downloaded VectorLinux 5.0std.iso & used their vinstall-iso script to get system up & running without burning a CD. Worked perfectly. Perhaps it could be modified for Pup users?

Could you please post the link to where you found the script and instructions for doing it?

vinstall-iso

rarsa,

you can download vinstall-iso from this address, (saving as .txt file) :-

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... nstall-iso

you'll then need to make it executable by "chmod 755 vinstall-iso" .

then you can download the veclinux 5.0 std iso, put both in the same directory, (on a linux file system), and run command " ./vinstall-iso VL-5.0std-RC2.iso".

System should then take you through the veclinux install program. (Would have to be installed to another partition from where you've saved iso to though).

cheers
