FireFox 9.01 is out!

#1 Post by TLM »

Firefox 9.01 is out. I have updated Puppies 431 and 525 via the Help-Check for Updates link. All seems well so far. No errors when launched from terminal. I might add that this is an update from FF 8.01 installed using Tman's PET found here:

I also had previously applied the libnss3.so fix mentioned in the above referenced forum post. I do not know yet how to create PETS, or I would make a FF9.01 PET for the community. However updating from FF 8.01 is working really good for me.

...and just in time for Christmas, too!

Actually, I'm scared. I still remember when first our FF7's upgraded to FF8, and all seemed well for a short time..and then, our machines started locking up.

Truth is, I sort of like the old days, when Mozilla didn't care about this thing called Chrome, and so no one cared if they didn't release a new Firefox every month or so. Call me old-fashioned.

The only repo in Puppy Package Manager that I see this latest Firefox, 10.0.2, is "slackware-13.37-salix".

"slackware-13.37-slacky" shows 4.0 (!)

One of the Puppy repos lists Aurora 7. something
