Vmware Workstation 8 on Fatdog 64 521 FULL install ? |
|
There is helpful (old) post http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=51278 about Puppy Frugal install, but how does one do it on FULL install?
fd64-devx_521.sfs is here - http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/sfs/500/
but how does one use sfs on full install? (sorry, did not yet do my "homework")
Fatdog 64 looks just a perfect candidate for HOST for Workstation 8
Thanks for your help

Default install gives error:
| Code: | | [vmware-usbarbitrator 8.4.18] Installation failed, rolling back installation |
The solution was in:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=126615
Ofcourse using first "help" from TheAsterisk!
| Code: |
mkdir -p /etc/rc.d/rc0.d /etc/rc.d/rc1.d /etc/rc.d/rc2.d /etc/rc.d/rc3.d /etc/rc.d/rc4.d /etc/rc.d/rc5.d /etc/rc.d/rc6.d /etc/pam.d /etc/modprobe.d
touch /etc/inetd.conf

sebus | With a full installation, mount the sfs file and copy all files to the proper directories. After a reboot, it should work. 01micko developed a program called sfs_grabber for the Quickpet and Slickpet utilities, that does the installation as well, at 1 time sfs_grabber was available as a stand-alone program. You may locate it with a Puppy Google search.
