Puppy Freezes after boot to main screen

When I load the Live CD and I get to the main Puppy Linux screen, everything just freezes - I am unable to do anything - move the mouse or use the keyboard.
What could be responsible for this and how do I fix it?

It boots all the way to the seagull, and then freezes? Bummer.

What kind of computer, a laptop? What make & model? Is your keyboard/mouse USB or PS/2?

Which version of Puppy did you try? If it's 1.0.3, try 1.0.2 and let us know what happens.

It boots all the way to the main Puppy Linux welcome screen. I see the desktop with all the various icons of the applications.
But at this point, my computer freezes.

It is version 1.0.3
I am using a ps/2 mouse and keyboard.
