Subject description: can't wireless connect

I helping a guy setup his Lenovo S10e netbook with the Broadcom wifi chipset. I had previously tried Slacko 5.3.1 booted from a flashdrive. Everything booted just fine, it could see all available wifi networks but wouldn't connect. Wifi protection was disabled.

I now have Lucid 5.2.8 on a flashdrive in hopes of connecting to the internet. At this point Lucid doesn't see available networks.

I consider myself a good searcher for my solutions rather than blindly asking for help. The search has gone on now for several weeks and I'm stumped. There does seem to lots of help but I just can't find the silver bullet yet.

I'm pretty new to Linux, I have Ubuntu 11.10 running flawlessly on the DT but receiving no Puppylove.

Is there any more info that I can provide to find a solution.

Thanks

Mike

Which network setup did you use?

I had some wifi trouble and Frisbee is the one that worked on mine.
