USB mouse not working

#1 Post by varaahan »

I have two mice, one is three button serial mouse connected to /dev/ttyS0 and another is an USB mouse ( IBM two button optical scroll mouse) connected to my USB port.

I am using VESA driver for X.

My USB mouse is not detected at all.
I don't know how to make it work.

If I try to cinfigure X by xorg, I could not get X working so I have to use X VESA only.

maybe in the initial setting you are asked if you have ps2 or usb mouse. if you have a usb mouse, first push arrow down, then space and then enter, this wil set the x to usb.

Did you try using the setup icon on the desktop and clicking the change mouse and keyboard button. I just tested it using Xvesa and two mice plugged in, I change between usb or serial mouse using the mouse that's currently working but you need to restart X for the change to take effect.
