How to install qt4 in Racy Puppy?

#1 Post by antiloquax »

I have installed the qt everywhere package, but can't run the demo. It says I need glibcxx.3.4.14.

I am using GCC 4.3.4 on Racy Puppy. I can't find exactly that Gnu C Library on the net - will any others work?

I am a newbie programmer and I want to try QT in readiness for when the Raspberry Pi comes out. I have been learning Python and a little bit of Lua,

Also I use VIM as my IDE, but I think I'll be able to find the QT plugins quite easily

cheers,
mark

Still haven't managed it. I downloaded glibc 2.14.1 and tried to install it in /usr/lib. I got errors when I tried to "make".

If anyone knows how to do this, I'd appreciate it!

I've sorted it. The QT4 pets I found on here worked perfectly.

Do you remember to direct links to the qt4 pet files?

Googling through this forum always gives me a headache...

(Been looking for awhile now....)

Sorry, my post was misleading - I just used the qt pets that are listed in Puppy Package Manger (Puppy-common repo) "qt4-4.5.3-1-w5".

I've got a newer version in the saluki repo. Also it has webkit and phonon support if you need that.

qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.6.3-i386.pet

#7 Post by RSH »

Hi,

i do have qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.6.3-i386.pet (146mb) and qt-everywhere-start-center.pet (1.4kb, small GUI written by myself).

It seems to work in my LazY Puppy and should do so in basic lucid - but i didn't use it.

If anyone is interested, i could upload this two pets.
