Radio stream recording
Here is how I got 2245 Classic tracks with perfect quality (if 128kb is enough for you) in one week. No manual naming of filename or meta-tags.

The builtin presets should all work nice for you. You should know that your favorite radio-station might NOT be the best grab-target. - There are some pitfalls:
- Bad or missing meta-information
- Too low streaming bitrate. 96kbits does not sound well.
- Meta-information is not in sync with tracks could also include commercials etc.
- Talk-shows seldom plays the complete song, while pure music stations more often do.

It seems to raise the fact that we treat different genres with different level of respect. Regarding to this; Classical and Black-metal stations provide excellent streams while most others differ a lot. But if your favorite station fails, please try some of the other 11000 stations in the Pmusic index.

The grabber script (3) is running separately from Pmusic, so you can do whatever you want with Pmusic even if grabber is running - also close it.
I have now let it run for a week, and the result is too long to list here, but as an example I will list the tracks of Mozart.

Neil Young: Piracy Is The New Radio -thanks to Alice Cooper's Radio Show on rebel-FM (and many other stations) for the heads up.

Am I the only one left with a dedicated hi-fi system? :lol: The kids really don't know what they are missing.

I have a ton of stuff from the old napster/kazaa days that rarely gets used, mainly due to poor quality..(woops, maybe I shouldn't say that!)

I have a feature request. Often people's collections were built with other players which save the album art. Maybe a good idea would be to have an option to save album art? Or at least do a quick search in the playing directory (local) for it and use that instead of downloading. Thunor employs this in his play-music app so I'm sure he won't mind to share his code.

Are you aware of the existing feature? -Or do you suggest an improvement? There are several ways to solve this, I simply added my own to not interfere with existing. Albumart inside id3tags are also possible, but I have not found any tiny libs offering this yet.

Be aware that Pmusic does not save the shown image because of its size. Saving is done when albumart is found at amazon.com that offers bigger images.

This is for sure an area where Pmusic could improve a lot.

Ah.. ok.. you see I haven't had much time lately to be just a *user* :)

The thing is though, I have album art inside some of my folders created with amarok or WMP. Thunor solved using this art with some simple code, hence my suggestion.

The opposite, - Save albumart only if it is big enough. albumart.org offers smaller images, and I see them only as a backup if amazon fails.

When it comes to albumart in local dir........ considering.........

I've updated Pmusic from 2.30 to 2.4.4-1, but now, when I launch a music cd, I don't get any track information(apart form the no.) or album artwork, as before.

Change the view, and there is no way to change back, that I can find, on some of the optional views.

I don't think Pmusic is the troublemaker for your miss of track-info for audio-CD. cdda2wav fails to connect to disc-id db, so other players using this technique also fails (like gmplayer). My intention is to move to musicbrainz.org. Hopefully for Pmusic 2.5.0....

To get a fresh Pmusic startup, you can rename/delete the directory /root/.pmusic

It does show track-info in version 2.30.

Just wanted to make sure you understood.
