How to configure a USB wireless

#1 Post by rakoczimrks »

Hello,

I have an old laptop and I installed Slacko Puppy ver. 5.3 on it, the ethernet card is not connected and I think it's not working anymore on it. I have a Sweex LW058 USB wireless stick, how could i connect to the network, in WinXp it's easy, because it's recognized by the WinXp. I'm not a Linux guru (an every day user - I have Linux Mint on my desktop computer)

Any help is useful.

thanks.

Have you tried network wizard or Frisbee?

I solved the problem buying a new wireless USB with Realtek RTL8188SU chipset it's a CANYON 150MBPS CNP-WF518N2. This one it's working fine with Puppy.

Next time you are looking for a wireless USB adapter. I use

http://linux-wless.passys.nl/

You can check out Sweex LW058 USB linux support in that link if you know the chipset it uses.
