Executable Broswers & other Applications [Sovled] Sub_title: Execution_Failure
Trying to start an executable file from "my-documents". Puppy is running from a flash drive, but I read that should not be a problem. I made some test files and they all worked as dummy executables. The broswer always gives a warning and shutdowns.
[Cannot start as root.]
I am wondering if I can either:
1) Force it to run in root w/ puppy.
2) Add a user and switch to that user level while in root.
Unfortunately, I've no idea how to go about doing that in puppy.
Puppy usually runs as root. Is there a way to change that?
I didn't find "spot" in any of the other documentation.
Puppy Linux has another user by default called "spot" which is limited user, you can run applications as limited user by typing "su spot" in terminal then you can launch apps from that terminal as "spot" user. There are also puplets which are working on full multiuser enviroment like this one: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=343034#343034 It's based on 4.2.1 and you can createusers, log into X and run most apps as limited user. blunk
