How about making /opt writeable?

#1 Post by GuestToo »

i have no objections to mounting opt_cram.fs files on /opt, it's just it would be good if /opt was writable after

it should be easy to mount /opt using unionfs so files are written to say, /root/.opt ... then it would be writeable (and changes made to /opt would be saved between boots)

the way it is now, /opt is writeable, but changes are lost (my programs make new symlinks to /opt every time the programs runs, if they are needed)

Hey man for your own use why don't you just remaster image.gz with what you need ?

From my own point of view I'd prefer if /opt/tools was readonly, well at least for the development tools....

or if opt_cram.fs will no longer be installed when Puppy boots, /opt could be a symlink to /root/.opt

...yes, that's a possibility.
