could we get these two pets added? thanks

--------
they are from the forum and work in all pups tried.

-------

FolderEnc is the work of JamesBond and Smokey01 and does
not work as is in Saluki. probable needs compiling.

Nwipe think maybe is DPUP5520
Uploaded nwipe and aria2. FolderEnc is a rox app - Better to use Cryptkeeper which has the same functionality using a panel applet.
thanks will give it a go

downloaded and installed cryptkeeper and dependency encfs

clicking on "about" crashes and closes with a seg fault.

tried created an encrypted folder and got error

"Please check that the folder name you chose was not already used, and that encfs is installed correctly."

# cryptkeeper
encfs: /usr/lib/libfuse.so.2: version `FUSE_2.8' not found (required by encfs)

Hi jemimah,

Great! :D

Frugal installation of Lucky 13 on an ext4 partition on Dell Inspiron Laptop. I've finally gotten it to boot, however grub4dos configuration had to be redone before it would boot properly. It looks great and is also working fine on my desktop.

Problems:
1. Logitech wireless mouse's usb receiver is not detected on boot. To get the mouse to work the usb receiver must be removed and reinserted after boot. It is then recognized and mouse works. This is also the case with my desktop installation with an identical Logiteck wireless mouse.
2. Wifi network is not recognized. Since I am unfamiliar with the included network software, I installed Frisbee, however it doesn't work because the necessary driver for the laptop's Network controller (Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1030) apparantly is not present so no wifi connections are recognized.

The saluki custom puplet builder works great. It's a super addition that makes it simple to set up the puplet just as one desires.

Software Requests for PPM:
1. Your Frisbee network software
2. Bibletime Bible study software for linux. Size probably will require sfs. Also see Bibletime here.
3. Xiphos Bible study software for linux. Size probably will require sfs.

Thanks,
Jim

I am quite sure that driver is present but maybe the driver does not talk nicely to the firmware.
Could you check with dmesg what driver for wireless is loaded and what there is about firmware...essential is the version it asks and does it load correctly or is it missing.

playing with cyrptkeeper still couldn't get to work.

installed Truecrypt from ppm.

same as other puppets to work requires

preferences>system integration> kernel services

check do not use kernel cryptographic services.

dmesg output is attached. Hope this helps.

Code: Select all

Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux
iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 BGN, REV=0xB0
iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 0 802.11a channels
iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: loaded firmware version 18.168.6.1
ieee80211 phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'iwl-agn-rs'
It looks allright. Driver is iwlwifi and it loads the firmware and no error messages.
I dont know straight what is wrong.

By the way Jim1911, check the exprimo thread about bibletime.

I'm using a custom 013 build. I'm having no problem with crypt keeper. The only thing I did was go into crypt keeper preferences and change the file browser to thunar.

@Jemimah, maybe I missed it, if there was any discussion about this, but for a system build of this caliber (supposed to be for newer hardware) why not a PAE kernel that sees all of my 4 gigs of ram?

changed to thunar. still crashes when click on "about."

still get error "Please check that the folder name you chose was not already used, and that encfs is installed correctly.""

thanks for the info that is part of the fix. just don't know the rest of it.

I had never clicked 'about'. So, after reading your last post, I did so. And the app exited from the task bar. For some reason, clicking about crashes the app. But the encryption does work so long as you stay away from the 'about' menu choice :?

EDIT: tried running crypt keeper from the terminal; clicked about and got a segmentation error.

Jemimah love this pup good work. Software requests
music streaming - DLNA,DAAP,RTSP
minidlna http://sourceforge.net/projects/minidlna/
forked-daapd https://github.com/jasonmc/forked-daapd
mpdhttp://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Server for the client gmpc
http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Clients.
alternative clients for mpd can be found in the xfce4 goodies packages http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/applications/start xfce4-mpc-plugin or xfmpc, while on the goodies do considet Gigolo,http://www.uvena.de/gigolo/ and i saw eatmonkey :) also at xfce goodies a frontend for aria2 too bad it requires ruby :? .

I have all music streaming working for me mostly from debian binaries, but at times its convoluted to set up due to dependencies, especially forked-daapd. I imagine others may find them useful.

Tried to recompile crypt keeper. during # ./config, I received this error...

Code: Select all

checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for DEP... configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.8 gconf-2.0) were not met:

No package 'gconf-2.0' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables DEP_CFLAGS
and DEP_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I got that as well, did you change the default filemanger to "Thunar" in /src/defines.h
I have a lot of trouble compiling stuff, not having all the dependencies and being a novice don't help

I've fixed this segfault and uploaded a new cryptkeeper.

You need to install GConf_DEV from the repo before it will compile.

I'm so confused. Frisbee was already installed. Maybe installing it again broke it...

Has anyone compiled an nvidia driver the new kernel for saluki. Resume doesn't work without it.

666philb was kind enough to provide a driver pet for the previous version

Thanks for any assistance. I really liked the earlier version and should not have simply upgraded to this one.
