Ok, I finally figured out how to do the overburn. Burniso2cd doesn't seem able to do it but when I used PBurn it allowed that option and I was able to burn the 51.8Mb of the 4.2.1 to the business card CD succesfully. Looks great! thx Hoven. Next step - trying some of the other puppy versions around 50mb.
Still keen to try Fatfree if I can find it.

Perhaps you should have a look on ' white fang' puppy (3.0.1, 50 Mb, without X.org, without Office, and without X.org, also only for xvesa)!
I suppose it is the more ' actual' (hm, actual, after a few years...) version in the 50 Mb size. and it works really pretty
(unfortunelly it is not on my actual hard disk so I can't upload it for you)

Merci bien Oui!
J'ai trouvé l'entrée du forum. Ici:

Thank you, this looks perfect, and I may be able to find an iso of white fang - I think I remember downloading it a couple of years ago.

OK. Here it is:
http://www.fileswap.com/dl/PBz6SgIf6J/puppy-fat-free-pup-2.17.iso.html
I was trying to find somewhere to download WhiteFang from but failed. However, I found a link to a Puppy 2.02 version with Opera. It's a bit old but might be useful.

I've also dug up a lightweight puppy from the 4.0 series. It's 72MB with Firefox. I'm going to post it in that under 100mb thread of yours as it's more appropriate there, but here's the link anyway:

Thanks Hoven, I tried Wolfpup, it's quite interesting and fast. I even managed to modify it to watch youtube videos. However I don't think I can trim it easily to get near 50Mb.
Fatfree has potential - I have done a quick test and will do more indepth trials soon. I have decided to start a topic comparing a variety of 50Mb puppies, for use as a basic rescue CD.
If anyone is interested, the comparison is here:

greengeek, I have WhiteFang 0.2 (an early version I think, but around here one never can tell ) if you would like it. Let me know a good place to upload it and I'll post a link.

Thanks Starhawk. Just the other night I found my White Fang, and it was also the 0.2 version. I've added that to my comparison notes.
I have read that there is a 0.3.1 version so I'm keen to find that one and give it a go too..

Fatfree works fine as a Rescue CD burnt to a 50Mb "business card" CD. Easy to carry in the wallet!
I have done a comparison of some 50Mb puppies for this purpose here:

If you want an easy puppy to "cut down"?
Try TXZ-pup
Every installed app can be removed and just remaster the ISO after updating it.
You then can used the bigger live CD as an off-line Repository by using Big_Bass' repackage tool.
repackages any installed packages on the old cd for your cut-down one as needed.

Hmmm, ok, I'll give that a go.
I'm sure I've got that on a CD. I seem to remember TXZ was the one that had a pirate ship and butterflies on the desktop. I think my machines were too underpowered at the time and I abandoned it but I will have a tinker.
