Subject description: I can't Re-size the save file beyond 4096 MB!

Hi,I have a problem with the save file not re-sizing. I have 5416 MB left unused but i can't increase the save file by 2048 mb! Puppy tells me it will resize it on startup and i can see it resize the file but when i log in to the desktop the available memory is still the same.It would be great if someone told me what the problem is....

Thanks

If this in a FAT32 flash drive, I think the size of the file is limited to a maximum of 2^32 by the FAT32 file system. Before you go trying to change anything, back up your Save file.

Hi, gamer.

Flash is right, there's a 4 Gb limit on max. file size on vfat drives. As an experiment, ttuuxx once reported that he successfully created a 30 Gb pupsave file on a ntfs drive (took the program awhile to create it, too!), but 1.5 Gb is considered to be the practical maximum for a pupsave file. Beyond that, you're on your own.

Why so big? For starters, symlink your /usr/share/backgrounds, your /root/my-documents and the /usr/share/fonts directories to your "home" drive and you'll immediately gain some space in your present pupsave. (Works for me.)

BFN.
