#1 Post by JackED42 »

Is it possible to compile http://packages.debian.org/lenny-backpo ... re-atheros on puppy 4.3.1? It is the atheros AR3011 drivers!

Cheers

No, not exactly. It's the firmware needed by the ath3k driver.

Puppy 4.3.x is too old to have the ath3k driver, but this driver is included from Puppy Lucid (5.1.x) onwards,
... then you still need to add the firmware, now attached.

Thanks for the reply =]. Is there a way to get the drivers on 4.3.1?

Ok. I managed to compile drivers for ath3k on puppy 4.3.1. I copied the firmware file across too. Now when I try and load the drivers (depmod -a). It recognises the usb device as atheros but it says the following in /var/log/messages/: -

Code: Select all

ath3k_probe: Error loading firmware
ath3k:probe:2-2:1.0 Failed with error -5
any ideas?
