How do I connect to a wifi hotspot? Subject description: I can connect to sites it scans....
I guess I want to know if I go to the library and scan for a connection. Will it say something like, "madison library?" How many feet away will the signal reach? Thanks

Yes or some name that identifies it. Probably what you guessed is a good one.
Signal pickup distance is dependent on how the signal is transmitted and the strength of the signal. We have a wifi hot spot, in our town, that covers about a 1/4 mile radius. Google put it in as a gift to the city, because they have a Google data center near this town. A specific place could only cover the area of the building. _________________ I have found, in trying to help people, that the things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
