Note to pemasu... Check out my new puppy backup software.
I was able to convert pmirror so that it
can mirror 5 folders now.

I call the application 'Puppy backup 1.4'

When the background picture is black, a black terminal looks strange.

The terminal background color can be change to a dark blue.

Is there something wrong with the screen saver? I can't get it
to work even though it says it's on.

Being an newbe with puppylinux I try to find the right setup for an old Sony laptop with a PII 400 Mhz but only 128 MB which is the max. I want to run Spotify on it nothing else.

So far Dpup Exprimo is the only one I found were the nativ linux version of Spotify runs. However I miss the ndiswrapper module.
I tried several versions but no success. I reports that the module cannot be found.

Does anyone have a suggestion? To get ndiswrapper running on exprimo or spotify on another puppylinux.

Thanks
espe

Pemasu,

thanks for your very quick response. If you have a recommendation on what is probably the best for the old Pentium II and the low memory I will follow. The laptop has no network connection at all. So the tests with a running spotify were done in a virtual machine. Seems it works with any and the sfs can be updated with the latest version as well.

Regards
Ernst

Old Pentium II`s were not my target group. I have targeted to somewhat newer hw, so you are the explorer now. If you have found that 5.X.14, or 5.X.3.1.* version or this thread 5.X.3.2.14 works for you then that version is good for you.

I just need to be sure that when I compile the kernel module...I compile it for right kernel version. That is why I asked. To be sure that I compile working ndiswrapper kernel module.

I havent compiled ndiswrapper for a long time....I dont even know if it needs patching for newer kernels.

5.X.14 works well and is the one currently installed.

Thanks in advance

Works perfect! Thanks a lot for your work pemasu.

Regarding spotify: Now I could test it but face problems with the missing SSE capabilities of the CPU. The installation runs perfect on my desktop PC. Anyhow was worth to give it a try.

Shinobar has upgraded grub4dos to be compatible to exprimo.

If you're upgrading exprimo make sure you have grub4dos
as well as my apps rename-files and puppy-backup.

Shinobar has upgraded ffconvert-122 to fix a couple of bugs.

SFR has written a right click option that works well.
