How to run Hurt Me Plenty?

#1 Post by LockTech »

Not sure if this is the right place for this. I have been tinkering with Pup 4.3.1. Very cool, fast and tiny. I love it. While exploring Puppy sites I found "hurt me plenty". Like 4.3.1 I tried to put HMP on a flash drive all went well. But I cannot get any of the games to launch after the first reboot as they should.

Any attempt results in the Text file explaining the need to reboot.
There was a post that read similar to this but the fix does not seem to apply.
I checked for mgamesa_083.sfs in the boot load options and it appears to be there.

I am new Linux and puppy, any help would be appreciated.

I haven't herd of that one.

Have you tried the official puppy release? Lupu? What method did you use to install it to your flash drive?

Try using a CD, if all runs well you should be able to install it from the CD to your flash drive.

I used Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.7.9
I will try burning a CD.
Thanks

Open your USB drive, and there should be a file called extlinux.conf

look at the last line

Does it say?
append initrd=initrd.gz pmedia=usbflash pfix=copy
