Need to know what PL528.005 asks when trying to create a :pupsave file before I reboot this broken screen notebook! Subject description: Can't see any Splash screen provided before the os is up. |
|
As the title states, I can't see anything that isn't produced by the os itself in this machine, so I need to create a pupsave file but can't remember what the system asks (in order) nor what the alternatives it gives me to choose from. With that info beforehand I can, more or less, safely reboot, create the said pupsave file & then install the jre package: I need it. Can't stand surfing the web or staying connected without my favorite web radio station.
Thanks for any screen shots or lists made available for me & others to inspect.
EDIT: BTW, I searched for a while in the web for a command in a Puppy Linux shell that could give me the specific os I'm running but failed to find it, at least uncoded. Posted in the "For the regulars" forum but received no reply.

Do you want to make a savefile?
<Save> <No>
second screen:

Make sure that usb floppy is plugged in
<ok>
third screen:
select your partition
<scroll up and down through partitions>
<ok>
4th screen
ext2 or ext3?
<ext2>
<ext3>
<ok>
5th screen:
what name for save file?
<blank space for name>
<ok>
6th screen:
Encryption?
<normal> <light> <heavy encrypted>
7th screen
size of file? (scroll up and down. 5. 512mb is default)
<ok>
8th screen
final sanity check
<yes save> <change folder> <do not save>

Thanks for responding, sfeeley!
I copied all on a paper & am preparing to follow through, but first I want to browse my HD to see if I did make a pupsave file somewhere else yesterday.
