jpeps; It`s the end of the old Mayan calender cycle, and the start of the new one.
This is as all calenders do, the calender rolls over of course.
But the Mayans, Hopi, and many cultures world wide say this is a time of
upheaval, and as Edgar Cayce put it "A Time of Great Earth Changes".
He said that California would split from the U.S. and sink into the Pacific.
He also said that Kansas and Nebraska would be the U.S. western coast.
He also said that 12 million Americans would loose their homes. ( Happened )
And he said that the American voters would elect a black president. ( Also )
I have been watching his prophecies become reality for 30 years now.

I've been honing my windsurfing technique for that event.

The patient was cured, or so they felt, so who were they to question Cayce's prediction of their medical condition or his methods? But there is very little aside from word of mouth to verify any of Cayce's purported healings. There is evidence of the quackery, though. He recommended laetrile for cancer, which is ineffective (and contains cyanide). He recommended things like "bedbug juice" for dropsy, and apple brandy for tuberculosis! For breast cancer his "cure" was placing a freshly dead rabbit pelt on the breast. Tragically, this kind of quackery also contributed to deaths in Cayce's own family (even his son), by seeking out quack cures instead of appealing to modern medicine of the time. "

jpeps;
It`s hard to claim quackery when the man was asleep while giving readings.
There`s nothing worse than someone up on a soapbox like politicians
Any of what you have mentioned could be found to be a true therapy.
The rabbit pelt was an incubator for a vaccine, body contact or shots?
The future he spoke of was right in line with the Mayans and Hopi, etc., etc.
And even a number of parts of the Bible which he was devoted to all his life.

guess you have a point there.
Like science, it's always wise to look for examples to disprove your hypothesis rather than those that appear to confirm it. I haven't found a lot of continuity regarding the beliefs of any ancient civilization, and certainly nothing regarding the Bible.

Folks have been reported to talk while sleepwalking. Many people can carry on a somewhat confused conversation while in a lucid dream state. I have seen that frequently. I do know this: Carl Sagan put something like 20,000 dollars in his home and stated that he would give the money to anyone who was able to locate it through extra-normal perceptive "gifts" He even published this challenge in at least one book. The result? No one ever won the prize. There are "end times" "2012s" "Gotterdammerungen" and even "Ragnaroks" in a lot of religions. It seems that it is natural for us to contemplate the end-of-all. I think that if we do not poison ourselves or blow ourselves up, we have an incredibly slim chance of watching Sol go super-nova. Not likely though, there are many who believe that they reason for not having found extraterrestrial life, is, that after a race discovers element 92, they tend to blow themselves up. As to psychic ability? I am agnostic.

If someone could read the future, they could essentially have all the money in the world via simple stock market bets. In fact, they'd just have to do better than chance. So far, that's never happened. Ethics....hardly; they could give the money to charitable causes.

If only everything were that simple...
Without knowing the aspects of what`s involved, everything is speculation.
Einstein and contemporaries speculated that the whole make up of reality
( quantum physics and relativity ) most closely resembled a "thought".
Another words... The entirety of this existence is nothing more than a dream.

I made big selling off all my Facebook shares 3 days ago - saw it coming...
Nah - wasn't going to buy into that mug's game in the first place.
@sickgut - your recent posts concerning your delirious episodes have me worried. I had a very similar experience about 20 years ago - waking up with a stranger... and it was ME! (I'm still a bit of a "stranger in a strange land", if you can grok it. Though now I have more Buddhist leanings, I must say)
Get a scan, my man

I think the big problem for most people is they are comparing apples and oranges
There is more than one mayan calendar, and it doesn't stop, any more than the Julian/Solar one
In essence the mayan calendar is about the journey of the soul and cycles of growth and vibration, and that is the major shift occurring, in our individual and collective consciousness, not our planet home, though she is having to adjust to a change in frequencies
I posted a couple of links on the other forum which may help a bit

Each of us is faced with finding our own path/journey/inner wisdom and being responsible for the way in which we use our energy, and relate to other beings, whether human, animal, vegetable, mineral, or other worldly
We are, in truth, beings of light and love, co-creating our 'reality', and with some, who appear to have power, deluding others into believing they don't
It is but a temporary illusion, soon to be revealed for what it is, and humanity's history, dna, and future potential will become clearer
We need to rise above the false and fearful, and let joviality and abundance be our natural state
Who would say that fun and fulfillment of our dreams would be something to say no to?
The choice is what makes the future - so use it well
Anything is possible

uh..I think it's more like some who are deluded into thinking they have special powers trying to delude others into thinking they have special powers.

jpeps; Unless it`s "special powers" as you call it that all humans have.
Some folks are just talented, Mozart pick up a violin at 5 and played it.
All people are capable of playing a violin, and probably a few animals.
But obviously Mozart, Einstein, and Cayce have very special talents.

..and people should note that Mozart, Einstein, Bach, et al put in MANY hours of hard work developing those talents, the opposite of the "flight to light" mentality. You don't have to be a "believer" to appreciate Einstein's achievements, they're provable. There has never been anyone yet that could predict the future with any scientific validation. Yeah...someday a black man will be president. I predict that someday a woman will be president.
