Hi,

I have installed Lucid Puppy 528 and chromium browser. I have set up proxy using Internet connection wizard. The browser works cool with URLs like http://www.google.com etc. However it does not work for https://... URLs.

The internet connection wizard does not have SSL proxy or HTTPS proxy option. I tried setting the environment variable https_proxy using export and then launching chromium. Still does not work.

Help

Hi Kaundinya, Welcome!

Aside from Google- can you reach this page? Do you actually connect to your ISP (user-agent) via proxy?

Thanks for the quick response and apologies for my delayed response.
The page http://proxy-test.zzl.org/ is reachable from my lucid puppy and it opens correctly. But the https pages like gmail times out.

I am in a research institute. And all external connections from here go through a proxy. This requires username / password.

It is working now! I tried a lot of things. I think the solution which worked is creating a text file named https_proxy in /etc/profile.d/ with the relevant data - user:pass@proxy:port

Thanks for the attention and the concern.
